US$2,000 Price Decrease for In-Wall Rear Projection SMART Board™ 2860 Interactive Whiteboard
SMART Technologies Inc. reduces price of interactive whiteboard by 11 percent
Calgary, AB --- June 2, 2003 ---SMART Technologies Inc. announces a $2,000 (11 percent) decrease in the price of its 72" (182.9 cm) In-Wall Rear Projection SMART Board 2860 interactive whiteboard. Effective immediately, the new North American suggested retail price of the 2860 is US$15,999. Educational institutions in North America may qualify for a grant worth 25 percent of the suggested retail price through the SMARTer Kids™ Foundation. The grant amount may be applied against the price quoted by an authorized reseller.
The In-Wall Rear Projection SMART Board 2860 interactive whiteboard includes a 72" screen (active screen size of 71" or 180.3 cm), a SMART Mirror Stand, an XGA (1024 x 768) projector with a short-throw lens, the SMART Pen Tray, which holds an eraser and four pens that can write in electronic ink, and SMART Board software. While traditional in-wall installations require 5'–6' (152 cm–183 cm) behind a wall, the integrated SMART Mirror Stand and projector needs just over 25.8" (65.5 cm), saving valuable floor space.
With a computer image projected onto the interactive whiteboard, users can simply touch the display to access and control any computer program, using their finger as a mouse. When a pen is selected from the SMART Pen Tray, users can write over top of applications and highlight important information with electronic ink. Annotations can be edited, saved and printed for distribution.
